Guess who I saw?

As I was driving down to the office, have a guess who I overtook……. No you’re wrong it was the celebrity husband and wife team of Paul Daniels and Debbie McGee. How cool is that?

Here’s his blog, I never knew he was such an avid blogger.

Its All About The Pentiums / The Saga Begins

Before coming across “White and Nerdy” by Weird Al, these two songs are my favorites of his.

Zane Lowe

How stange. I was walking to the gym via Victoria Sqaure.  There was some band playing and I stopped to have a listen and watch while they were being filmed against the big foutain.  There was probably some where around 10 people in all watching, and this one guy was rocking out slightly to them.  He turned to me and asked what did I think.  “Pretty Good”, I replied it was until I saw him talking to someone else that I realised it was Zane “In New Music We Trust” Lowe.

AD

I have just come back from a crunch session with the IT crowd at work.  We are in the process of migrating everyone over from NT4 domains to Active Directory.  What a pain everyone is going mental moaning about how long it will take there laptop or PC to be migrated and there was no sort of system setup for the migration.  Luckily I more organised these days and managed to setup a system to monitor the laptops as they come.  The room I was working in though was very very warm.  About 12 computers, and 6 guys all working together next time I think that I will wear shorts ;) .  Hopefully the guys will get everything done in time however they have 120 machines to do in 2 weeks and it can take anywhere from 45mins to an hour and a half to upgrade a PC.  I have a feeling I my be called back next week!

I did get to spent sometime with Jon and Amelia as I was staying over in their new pad while working in Epsom.  Its very nice on three floors , white and very modern looking.  They are currently waiting for BT to fix their line as when I was round there broadband was up and running however (and this is very unfortunate) they next day there telephone line went down and it won’t be fixed till this Saturday.  Jon was gutted to say the least only managing about 2 hours of 8mb speed before losing it for a couple of days.  I was very envious until I found out that at some point Demon will be upgrading my line free of charge, I have my fingers crossed because I needs them speeds!

Google has launched a new website docs.google.com which combines Google Spreadsheets and Writely into a unifed user expereince.  Although I have accounts with both I have never used them (I just like signing up for new features!) so I’ll give this new layout a whirl and let you know

Alton Towers

We have just returned from our annual trip to alton towers for Robin’s birthday.  Robin (pictured above) has just turned 30 and as usual celebrates around his birthday with a trip to alton towers.  The beauty of going at this time of the year is that the queues are very small and we managed to get on all the big rides.  For photo’s click on the flickr link here.
