A Small Break

Have just returned from a lovely small mini break in the Cotswolds, which is a lovely place in the world.  The best thing was for people who following my status updates in my facebook will be glad to know is that the honeymoon is not sorted and Katie and I will be jetting of to Borneo after we get married.  We will spend 5 days in a resort on the beach and then head off for a 4 day tour of the rainforest (where we will get to see orang-utans, elephants, monkey, some crazy looking birds and also some sea turtles and we get to hold the little tiny baby ones which makes Katie squeal every time someone mentions it).  After that we head back to the resort to unwind before we come back.

I also stumbled across this link today and made me laugh out loud

Xbox Media Centre

Well I finally got around to sorting out my xbox and modding so that I can set it up in the bedroom to replace out antiquated cheap DVD player. Don’t get me wrong as a cheap DVD player its done a great a job but its started to no load DVD’s properly and as such being technically minded I hit it as hard as possible until it reads the DVD. Plus having so much digital media now a days, I just wanna spread it around the house.

So at a cost of £27 I now have a media centre and a wireless bridge. Following the handy links provided by lifehacker, here and here. If you have an old xbox lying around I would recommend that you do it to.

Update

I would definitely recommend reading the follow-up article as it will make your media centre sing.

Normal Service Resummed

Finally after what seems like forever the server issue which was plaguing me has now been resolved. It took nearly a week but I’m back up and running. In the mean time Richard has had his party at the Barley Corn and as you can see from the picture below (check out gratuitous tongue action while I’m concentrating) I have purchased Guitar Hero 3 on the Wii and now have delusions of grandeur about being a rock deity!

King of Kong

Last in between my journey to and from work today I have watched a fun little documentary called King of Kong. It mad my smile as I saw a little of myself in Steve.  Its basically all about the obsession of people getting the High Score on Donkey Kong and getting the recognition for it.  If you get a chance to watch this film please do, like all good documentary’s it seems at time its view is a little skewed but I found throughly entertain to watch.  Sadly with no UK release date as yet you can only get it in NTSC format
