No Bar, Beers and A Small Sag Aloo Please

Yesterday was quite a busy evening for me, its rare that I go out to things.  Not that I don’t go out, but there’s not much on my calendar of an evening.  But yesterday’s date was etched into my calendar as there were two events happening.  The birmingham bloggers meet up and social media curry.

I went along to the bloggers meet, which was supposed to be happening at Bluu bar but when I arrived at Bluu, it was closed, doors locked and all the opening times scratched off the door (that doesn’t bode well for them). Luckily grabbing my phone I saw that it have moved to Apres just up the road.  I was slightly nervous about going along as (and I think this is one of those weird things about twitter) I felt like I actually knew the people really well that I follow, when in reality I don’t and am in fact a total stranger to them.  That said after grabbing a quick pint, sitting at the table and meeting people I follow in real life, I got involved in several conversations ranging from a lady who was still on AOL dialup (I know), why everything in House is probably Lupus and the luminescence of ginger pubes.  But don’t let those topics put you off, they are all really great and friendly people and I would like to say hello to everyone who I met.

After saying my good-byes I quickly jumped on a number 82 back home and head off to Teknaf’s at the top of Bearwood to meet up with the guys having a social media curry.  By the time I got there (9pm-ish) they had nearly finished but waited while I grabbed a quick beer (Cobra beer have gone into receivership! are doing fine http://bit.ly/j0Dh3) and some sag aloo (it was damn tasty). I have to say if you are near Bearwood and fancy a curry go here.  The price is right and the food was amazing. @BostinBloke, @Cybrum and @Philipjohn were in attendance and it was nice to see you all again and have a bit more of a personal chat such as how easy it is to mislead on twitpic.  I look forward to the next curry and promise next time not to be late.

When I woke up this morning I did feel quite bloated from all the beer but I guess thats the price you pay
