Linksys Technical Support Fail, We Do Not Have That Information

A colleague of mine has received a linksys router and was having trouble with it on Vista 64, he contacted live tech support and this is the transcript of the conversation he had.  I’ve changed his name to Vim Fuego:

Vinnie (46193E): Thank You for Contacting Linksys Live Chat Support. My name is Vinnie, How may I help you today?
Vinnie (46193E): Hello John !
Vim Fuego: Hi. Please advise where I can download a Vista 64 driver for the WUSB300N. On your support page  http://www.linksysbycisco.com/UK/en/support/WUSB300N/download, only 32 bit is mentioned.
Vinnie (46193E): Let me check .
Vinnie (46193E): Thank you for your time and patience!
Vinnie (46193E): I am afraid, we do not have drivers for 64 Bits
Vim Fuego: When are they due?
Vinnie (46193E): We do not have that information .

Vim Fuego: I’m obviously not the only one looking for them!
Vinnie (46193E): I understand you concern however we do not have that information .

Vim Fuego: Vista 64 bit has been around for a while now. It looks like you can’t tell me that you won’t be producing drivers for something I’ve bought which clearly states Windows Vista Compatible on the box. That is actually illegal.
Vim Fuego: There is no mention of 32 bit only.
Vim Fuego: Every other piece of hardware and software I have works… but not this one.
Vinnie (46193E): I will forward this to the relevant department .
Vim Fuego: Will I hear something from the ‘relevant department’ then? Who is the ‘relevant department’ and how do I pursue this?
Vinnie (46193E): When the drivers will be released you will get them on the linksys sites .
Vim Fuego: So they are going to be released?
Vinnie (46193E): As I told you earlier, we do not have that information .
Vim Fuego: I asked ‘when’ are they due, not ‘if’. There is a difference.
Vinnie (46193E): As I told you earlier, we do not have that information .
Vim Fuego: Right. I’ll send the hardware back then. Whom do I contact re mis-selling within your organisation?
Vinnie (46193E): We do not have any email address for that
Vim Fuego: You don’t have contact details for a department in your own company? Interesting. Like I said earlier, I can take a hint.
Vim Fuego: The user feeback re Linksys on many sites seems to stand up then in reality. I’m certainly not impressed with being mis-sold something and wasting my time.

These are the people who give tech support a bad name, as I’m sure you can agree its a #linksysfail.
